The Sierra Leone Physiotherapy Association (SLPA) celebrated World PT Day 2026 on 8 September.
The day's activities included:
- a statement from the president of the World Physiotherapy Africa region, Banda Henry Opondo, via a video link
- a key address by a representative of the World Health Organization
- a talk by the AHPC registrar on the importance of professional registration
- a testimony by stroke survivor
- a keynote address by the Deputy Director of Non-Communicable Diseases and Mental Health (NCD-MH)
- a panel discussion with Q&A featuring SLPA leaders, stroke survivors and health partners
- the showing of a pre-recorded video statement by Monique Koopman, member of the World Physiotherapy Africa region executive committee
